Workshop on the 10 years of cooperation between China and CEE countries

An online workshop, jointly organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Budapest and the Eurasia Center of Neumann University, was held on November 23, 2021 in preparation for an edited volume by 16 researchers from five countries to be published early next year. The workshop was opened by Qi Dayu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Hungary. The Ambassador announced that the Embassy donates 500 books on various topics from the BRI to the Chinese history as well as economy to the Eurasia Center of the John von Neumann University. The Rector of John von Neumann University, Dr. Tamás Fülöp also welcomed the participants, in his speech he emphasized the importance of scientific cooperation. The workshop discussion was opened by Levente Horváth, Director of the Eurasia Center, while he also expressed his gratitude to the Embassy and the management of the University for their support. During the almost 3-hour workshop the authors of the 16 studies of the forthcoming volume were invited to share their thoughts and ideas on the main points of theirs respective topics and reflected to various questions raised by the fellow authors.
